I tucked my phone into my swimsuit top and played my favorite song by Joven as I walked through the house to the garage on the far side of the home. Preston only called me when he was horny. But today he made it clear he was more interested in hanging out with our high school friends than he was with me. It was June now, and we were both home from Vanderbilt University, but I saw my boyfriend less this summer than I did when we were at school. He’d tell me anything, including when he thought I looked like I wasn’t ‘trying’ anymore, or acting like a bitch. We’d gotten comfortable with each other-maybe too comfortable. I didn’t know if there was a turning point, or a single event that made him different, but he wasn’t the sweet, caring guy I’d known. I’d loved him so much, I’d given him my virginity. Hell, our senior class even voted us ‘Most Likely to Marry Their High School Sweetheart.’ Since then, we’d done almost everything together. Preston Lowe and I had been together for more than three years and had started dating the summer before our junior year of high school. I did it because I needed a break from everyone. Preston had invited our friends over to hang out by his dad’s pool, and when we ran out of beer in the cooler, I volunteered to get the other case from the fridge in the garage. I do plan to read more of her books-especially if I can get them on audio.NASHVILLE IN THE SUMMER wasn’t for the faint of heart-the heat and humidity were oppressive. I definitely see why she’s popular, and this worked for me.

Nikki Sloane wrote a gripping and steamy book. That always bothers me in my romance, but I think it’s part of the game. Cassidy breaks up with her boyfriend of 3 years and immediately falls in love with his dad. At one point, I literally thought of course this would be the conflict! It also was very fast. It also happens basically the way you would expect. It’s been a bit, but this did feel like it had a lot of plot point similarities to Birthday Girl. Just in the way she reacted and the drama. That’s a tad young for me, but I just aged her up in my head. I’m happy about the daddy talk in my books.Ĭassidy was definitely young, I always would like a slightly older heroine. He’s a father, but I wouldn’t say daddy if you know what I mean. Not in a jerky way, but in a kind of sexy way. Greg (I can’t take that name seriously for some reason) was a bit on the dominating side. I see what she’s saying, but this is still very heavy on the banging bits. Riley from Riley Marie on YouTube said this is the middle ground between Penelope Douglas’ Birthday Girl and Katee Robert’s You’re Dad WIll Do. Books like this still make me a bit uncomfortable, but I did enjoy myself.
